Bermuda is offering wedding options in conjunction with cruise ship arrivals. Now you and your guests can cruise to Bermuda, get married on shore in a lovely outdoor location and enjoy a prepared reception or cocktail party or charter a party size boat and have your ceremony and reception at sea or get married at sea and enjoy your reception on land.
Bermuda is one of our favorite destinations. We enjoy the weather and the picturesque sights of Bermuda. Bermuda offers something for everyone from great shopping venues, cultural and sporting events to soft adventure activities like biking a rail trail, going sea kayaking or scuba diving a shipwreck. Bermudians are among the friendliest people we’ve ever met.
The preferred document for entry to Bermuda is a passport and effective January 1, 2008 all U.S. Citizens entering Bermuda by air or sea will be required to present a valid U.S. Passport.

On Wednesday, October 17, Travel agents across North America will hold a simultaneous event entitled “World’s Largest Cruise Night.” The event promotes cruising and will offer a variety of seminars, Q&A sessions, videos and special cruise offers.
While the events will vary from agency to agency, all involve some education about cruise vacations. My company, New Paltz Travel, is opting for a “Virtual Cruise Night.” With the help of CLIA (Cruise Line International Association), we’ve put together a mini site on our main website, www.newpaltztravel.com. The site contains five short videos that show the variety that exists in today’s cruise vacation. Parties, children’s programs, culinary demonstrations and guest lecture events are some of the many activities offered to you on a cruise vacation. We have arranged special offers for customers opting to book and place their vacations under deposit before October 31 and, as a special bonus, someone can win an iPod Shuffle by entering our October Cruise Sales Event Contest.
Yes this is about sales and marketing. That is what business is about. In our case, we wanted people to be able to take a look at options in the comfort of their own home and contact us when they were ready to talk about their vacation. We’ve never pushed sales, (maybe that’s not the best way to run a sales business!) but I’ve always felt that we also act as advisors and advocates for our customers because we help them make good choices. We’ll be out and about on Wednesday night and you can bet that we’ll be talking about cruises!
Visit us at www.NewPaltzTravel.com and experience our “Virtual Cruise Night.”

Carnival Cruise Lines ship, the Inspiration will soon enter a month long dry dock to be completed in early October. A new adults-only area called “Serenity” will be created. It will be located in an aft area of the ship and will feature chaise lounges, chairs, oversized umbrellas and two whirlpools. “Serenity” areas are just part of Carnival’s $250 million “Evolution of Fun” enhancements that will take place on Carnival’s Fantasy-class ships. more…

We have an Alaska cruise tour group coming in today for a “document party.” We just reviewed our hosting duties at 8:30am thinking out loud about how many chairs we have, how many people are coming, when to order the coffee and munchkins from Dunkin’ Donuts, and finally deciding to finish our review in the office this morning.
Some of the items we will review include ‘what can I bring’ airport screening procedures and packing tips. Of course, there will be other questions and we will try to anticipate them this morning. Our group leader Diane, one of the office staffers, is accompanying the group and I’m sure she will have a check list that we will take a look at today.
In the meantime, I have another group that I am working on today. This is an incentive group who will be spending a week in the Dominican Republic in January. This has been in the planning stages for the past 6 months and has just been contracted.
I’m considering creating a password only space for this group to try to have a lot of information there for them to review. Since this group is not particularly local to our agency, I’m sure there will be a lot of emails to write and answer.
One of the interesting facets of my business is that each customer has different needs and we have to be flexible and creative enough to meet those needs. I like thinking up tech ways like private web space, wikis and, of course, emails. We are even considering instant messaging as a tool to use with the Caribbean group.
